About Allyson
I am truly passionate about the Irish language and love sharing that passion with others!
Studying Irish at UL as part of my degree gave me a strong foundation in the language and a real enthusiasm for teaching it.
I believe it’s important to immerse yourself as a language learner. So, I have had the invaluable experience of teaching Irish in both Inis Oírr and Corca Dhuibhne, Dingle. These experiences have strengthened my spoken Irish massively, and it’s something I look forward to every summer!
I’ve also conducted Irish mock orals in The Crescent Comprehensive SJ, in Limerick, which gave me a great insight into the oral component. I now use this experience to inform my own teaching and help students thrive in their Irish oral exam.
Currently, I am loving my new teaching position this year in Loreto Abbey Dalkey. Sharing my grá for the Irish language and helping students grow their confidence with Irish is what motivates me most as an Irish teacher!

I tailor each lesson to meet you where you’re currently at with your Irish, creating a personalized approach that supports your individual needs and goals. Together, we build your confidence and skills step by step, whether your focus is oral Irish or improving your written Irish.
Previously, students have noted my ability in breaking down Irish material in a clear and accessible way, especially for both literacy components at Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert level.
I structure lessons to make the learning material more manageable, gradually building your skills and understanding to help you achieve the results you’re aiming for!
