I am a highly experienced and patient tutor with a proven track record of successfully helping students achieve their aims. I start by finding out from the student what their needs and priorities are. Then I devise and individual learning plan, uniquely tailored to them and their learning style . I am flexible and have a range of techniques at my fingertips to help transform, "I can't" to, "Wow! I did it!"
I have experience in helping dyslexic students using multisensory methods, coloured overlays, specialist handwriting courses and online games etc. Recent successes include improvement by 3 grades at GCSE and teaching an 8 year old to read.
Just because something is difficult it doesn't mean that it is impossible! Individual needs can be catered for within a sympathetic and supportive learning environment and together we can work towards your success. I am patient, approachable and enthusiastic and would love to be able to help you.

Perfect! Rosemary has been working with my dyslexic son for 8 months. From the first session I knew we’d struck gold. There’s no doubt Rosemary is excellent at what she does. Last Summer my son attained a level 3 pass at English GCSE - today he achieved a level 6, three whole grades higher. Rosemary’s excellent teaching and understanding of his challenges enabled him to reach his potential. Rosemary is reliable, honest, hard working and caring toward her students and I’m delighted we found her and have no hesitation at all in recommending her.
- Good analytical abilities and thoughtful interpretation. We need to work on writing a bit more. Well done! RosemaryRosemary's response :
Perfect! Rosemary is a professional, patient tutor who gives my daughter lots of encouragement. Thank you Rosemary!
- Well done Michaela for finding answers quickly in the lesson and concentrating hard. I'm sure you will do well. RosemaryRosemary's response :
Perfect! My daughter has dyslexia. During primary school, she struggled with her English. It made her confidence bring down a lot. As we moved down to Worthing from Haywards Heath. I need a specialised teacher in Dyslexia. I found Rosemary through superprof. My daughter had a lesson with Rosemany about one year. My daughter is Year 7. Her last term English grade result was 8. We could not believe it. Still she is in high level group. Rosemary taught Hanna how to make a good structure in writing and master in basic skills in writing.
- Thank you so much for your review Juhee! I'm delighted Hanna did so well. Best wishes, RosemaryRosemary's response :

Rosemary has gone the extra mile to understand my daughter and to work with her in a really responsive way. Rosemary has put a lot of work in to making sure the materials and approach that she uses matches my daughter's abilities and needs, with the result that my daughter's skills are coming on really well and she's making great progress. I really can't recommend Rosemary highly enough! She is a skilled tutor and a lovely person.
Rosemary is the best English teacher I've ever had. Her lessons were very helpful, informative and interesting but at the same time she saw my weak sides and did her best to improve my English skills. I recommend her lessons to everybody who would like to get good results.
Rosemary tutored my daughter for GCSE English Language and Literature. She taught her so much in such a short time and made a tremendous difference to her confidence and exam results. We are grateful to her and would recommend without hesitation.
( Achieved an A in Language and B in Literature)When I started in January I had got grade 2 in my mocks and found creative writing and understanding what was needed to answer the question really hard. I am someone who doesn't really like school or learning, but I looked forward to my lessons with Mrs Hector as she explained everything in a way that I understood. I have just taken my GCSE's and managed to pass with a grade 4. I would highly recommend Mrs Hector to everyone. She is very kind and understanding and a very good tutor.
I'm so happy that I decided to boost my son's learning and found Rosemary. With just a few extra lessons in the holidays over the last year she has boosted his confidence as well as his comprehension and I've seen a great and real impact in his school reports. He's happy too as he looks forward to his extra lessons. He says they're fun and enjoys the kind considered attention that Rosemary gives him.
Rosemary helped me to achieve a band 7 in my IELTS writing exam, which I was struggling to do. She is excellent at what she does and I have really enjoyed her lessons. Rosemary was brilliant at identifying my weaknesses and helped me to improve. She was always well prepared and provided plenty of encouragement when I was lacking in confidence. I would highly recommend her.
Rosemary has been giving my son extra literacy help for the last couple of years. She is reliable, trustworthy and friendly. She always makes the lesson fun and will focus on topics that interest my son, so the lessons are personal to him. He has gained confidence in his reading, writing and spelling. I would have no hesitation in recommending Rosemary
I am glad that Rosie prepared me for the Proficiency exam. She is very understanding and flexible and immediately picked up on what I needed most and concentrated on that. She is a really gifted teacher and can explain things really well. She always encouraged me and showed me how I could improve. She marked my work quickly and was always well prepared. I enjoyed my lessons a lot.
My son needed some help with Literacy. He was becoming demotivated and losing confidence. Rosie has been giving him lessons for the last couple of months and already we are seeing the benefits. He is achieving his spellings at school, putting himself forward for tasks and challenging himself. Rosie believes in him and he loves his lessons. I would have no hesitation in recommending Rosie. She is professional, knowlegeable and has a positive approach to things.
With Rosemary's help my son managed to achieve a 'C' grade in his recent GCSE exam, having failed first time round. My son is a reluctant learner, but was always happy to attend Rosemary's lessons and certainly benefitted from the extra tuition and confidence Rosemary gave him in his abilities. When exam time came around he was relaxed and confident in obtaining a pass mark. I would have no hesitation recommending Rosemary and it was definitely time well spent for my son.
Rosie tutored my son after he failed his GCSE English the first time round. She did a great job helping him pass his retake. My younger son was also struggling with English. This time I brought in Rosie before the GCSE. He tells me the tuition is helping him and he feels more confident about his exams because of it. Rosie's help has certainly improved his confidence and we are hopeful of a good outcome when the results are in.
