About Adham
I began teaching in a school with mixed ability students and I now teach at a selective school in Kent, so I know a thing or two about catering to both ends of the spectrum. While I have learnt a lot from classroom practice, I endeavour to stay up-to-date with research and use this to ensure that my lessons are able to address the needs of my students. This has led me to pursue a master's degree in Psychology of Education at UCL. Therefore you can be sure that I put the individual needs of my students at the centre of my teaching.

If English is something you struggle with then my goal is to give you the skills to become more confident in reading and writing. If you're someone who's looking for a bit more challenge then I will stretch you so that you can achieve your full potential. Ultimately, I believe that English is an expressive subject, so all learning places you, the student, at the centre. My lessons are one hour in length and designed with the secondary English curriculum in mind - ranging from KS3 to KS5 depending on the student's needs.
I begin with a retrieval practice exercise so that you can recap prior learning, especially anything that will become relevant in our lesson. I will then introduce you to a new concept, idea or material depending on the desired outcome of the lesson. You will then be asked to completed a controlled practice task which will be supported by myself. Once I can see that you have mastered the skills that form the lesson outcome I will give you an opportunity to use these skills independently. At the end of the lesson I will provide feedback so that you can go away and improve upon your learning.
