About Andrew
Hi! My name is Andrew Marshall, but I prefer to go by Andy. I'm a Peruvian-American born and raised in Houston, Texas. I am fluent in both English and Spanish, and am currently completing a teacher's certificate in English as a Second Language. I am experienced with nearly 3 years of volunteer teaching immigrant adults for an organization called Memorial Assistance Ministries. This includes both general classes and special classes for employment. I have also taught and lived in Genoa, Italy and Lima, Peru, giving first-hand experience with bilingual immersion in other cultures. I value listening to the students and learning from their feedback the most. Put simply, I just love helping people and getting to know them! I encourage you to take a trial lesson with me, and look forward to meeting you.

The organization I teach with taught me to ask for students' individual goals and needs, and to provide them with education they can apply to real life situations. A typical lesson plan involves rotating between reading, writing, listening, and speaking using a variety of interactive materials and activities. I enjoy focusing on encouraging you to speak as much as possible through role playing situations such as interviews, and giving conversation about yourself and interesting topics.
