About Valeriya
Hi! I’m a Marianopolis College student with a strong background in math and science. Math has always been one of my strongest subjects and something I’ve enjoyed throughout school. I completed my Secondary 4 Ministry math exams with grades as high as 98%, which reflects the strong foundation I’ve built over the years.
Now, as a student at Marianopolis, I want to help students from elementary through high school strengthen their math skills and feel more confident in their abilities.
I’m patient, friendly, and always happy to explain a concept in different ways until it clicks! My goal is to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions, improving their skills, and reaching their academic goals.

I offer personalized math tutoring for students from elementary to secondary 5. My goal is to make math easier to understand by breaking down difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps and adapting my explanations to each student’s learning style.
A typical lesson begins by identifying what the student is struggling with or currently learning in class. We review the important concepts together, work through examples step by step, and then practise with exercises so the student can apply what they have learned independently. I also help students prepare for tests and exams, complete homework, and strengthen areas where they may be missing important foundations.
I completely understand how frustrating math can feel when an explanation does not click right away! I am patient and willing to explain a concept in different ways until the student understands not only how to solve a problem, but why the method works. I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and making mistakes.
My lessons are designed for students who want to improve their grades, prepare for exams, catch up on difficult material, or simply become more confident in math.

Valeriya is fantastic! I used to struggle a lot with keeping up with my classes at school and it felt like the material was too complicated to ever fully understand. I was paired with her at school tutoring and she would use my class notes to build a nicely organized lesson plan and prepare practice questions that resembled the exam. I managed to score a really high grade in the Secondary 4 SN Math ministry exam, so I 100% recommend her as a tutor for any age.
Valeriya helped me pass my Sec 4 and Sec 5 SN math. She would tutor me once a week for around an hour. I appreciated how patient she was with me, especially throughout the hard-to-grasp concepts. Whenever I got the wrong answer, she wouldn’t make me feel embarrassed. Instead, she would explain the problem and ask me to try again. I highly recommend having her as a tutor since she brought up my grades from low 60s to 90s.
