About Reuben
Currently, I work at Aberdeen grammar school in the United Kingdom where I do 1-to-1 tutoring, group work and classroom assistance in a range of subjects such as English, Maths, Humanities and sciences.
In the summer of 2019, I spent my time in North Carolina, USA as a camp counsellor. The camp focused on young adults and children struggling with dyslexia, with the aim to help them raise their confidence through education and extra-curricular activities. During my time here I participated in 1-to-1 tutoring as well group reading sessions.
I have an honours degree from the University of Aberdeen in History and Social sciences. During my time there I did further studies in theology, philosophy and health and exercise.

My classes are designed for those aged between 12-15 studying for standard grade exams in Scotland and for those who struggle with dyslexia.
I will use multiple methods such as discussion, writing and other interactive activities to engage with the individual. I also personalise my lesson plan accordingly to the student, meaning any difficulty the individual has, I will adjust. With the goal, in the long run, making these difficulties strengths. With each student, I aim to help their memory retention, presentation, study methods, and essay writing, while also aiming to improve their life skills such as organisation and confidence.
Therefore, my teaching methods are aimed to improve their practical abilities in spelling, writing, critical thinking and research abilities while also developing their life skills. These skills will aid them in their educational studies and future development.
