About Zahra

I am a PGCE trainee in Primary Education, currently teaching a Year 2 class, with a strong commitment to helping children build confidence and achieve their full potential. Through my teacher training, I have gained hands-on experience planning and delivering engaging lessons that are aligned with the UK primary curriculum, particularly at Key Stage 1. I also hold a degree in Psychology, which supports my understanding of child development, learning styles, and how to create a positive and supportive learning environment. This allows me to tailor my teaching approach to suit each child’s individual needs and help them feel confident and motivated in their learning. In addition to my teacher training, I have experience working as a Teaching Assistant, where I supported pupils one-to-one and in small groups across literacy and numeracy. I am professional, patient, and reliable, and I place great importance on clear communication with both children and parents. My aim is to provide structured, engaging lessons that build strong foundations in reading, writing, and maths, while helping children feel supported, confident, and proud of their progress.

My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and child-centred. I aim to build children’s confidence first, as this helps them feel comfortable and motivated to learn. I adapt each lesson to the child’s level, learning style, and pace, ensuring they fully understand before moving on. For KS1 pupils, I focus on phonics, reading, writing basics, and early maths skills such as counting, number bonds, and simple problem-solving. Lessons usually last 45 minutes - 60 minutes. I am currently undertaking a PGCE in Primary Education, training as a primary school teacher and gaining hands-on classroom experience. I am currently teaching a Year 2 class, which means I have direct experience with Key Stage 1 learning objectives, lesson planning, and supporting children at different ability levels. I also hold a degree in Psychology, which supports my understanding of how children learn, develop, and build confidence. This allows me to adapt my teaching approach to suit different learning styles and needs. In addition, I have previously worked as a Teaching Assistant, where I supported pupils one-to-one and in small groups, helping with literacy, numeracy, and classroom learning. This experience has strengthened my ability to provide personalised support and create a positive, encouraging learning environment.
