- As a tutor from the Chicago area, I focus on creating a relaxed, personalized environment where learning guitar is both fun and effective. My teaching method revolves around focusing on technique, shapes, and practical application, making sure that students build confidence and a solid foundation. I aim to keep the process enjoyable and approachable, using simple exercises and songs that students recognize and enjoy to help beginners and intermediate beginners progress at their own pace.
- A typical lesson plan starts with reviewing previous material to reinforce what was learned, followed by introducing new techniques or songs that align with the student’s goals. We also focus on building strong rhythm, finger placement, and practical playing skills.
- What sets me apart is my personal experience of teaching myself to play and progress quickly, as well as my time jamming with other musicians and performing live in different settings. This experience helps me share time-saving tips and efficient learning methods with students. I understand the challenges that beginners face, and I tailor each lesson to fit the student's pace and interests. Whether you’re just starting or have a little experience, I’m here to guide you on your musical journey!
- These lessons are perfect for beginners and intermediate beginners looking to build their skills, gain confidence, and develop a solid foundation in guitar playing.

Zach is an awesome guitar teacher. Even over our online lessons, his plans are super engaging, and he knows how to break things down so they actually stick. He’s great at showing how to practice smarter and not harder. I can’t recommend him enough!
I’ve had a great experience learning guitar with Zach over Zoom this past year. He makes things easy to understand and fun to practice. I’d recommend lessons with Zach to anyone — he’s a great teacher and super patient!
I had the pleasure of learning guitar from Zach, and their guidance completely transformed my playing. As a new beginner, he taught me open chords, key techniques, and how to practice with a metronome to improve my timing. What stood out most was his unique approach to learning songs by ear, which made playing so much more fun. I’m incredibly grateful for his patient and motivating teaching style—thanks, Zach!
