About Anna
I am 23 years old and a 4th year student studying Psychology and Social Anthropology at the University of St. Andrews. I am currently looking for a part time job in St. Andrews and especially in the area of child education. I have had 4 years of experience in tutoring. During these years I helped all my students pass the (Swedish) national exam. I educated them in various subjects such as maths, religion studies, history and science subjects. I am passionate about working with young individuals and find it very fulfilling to be able to connect with and assist individuals with any support they might need. During my three years at university, my interest for individual development and educational needs has fostered even more, and I would find it very rewarding to continue to work with individuals who need guidance, now with more theoretical knowledge in my hands

It is important to me that the student gets a fundamental understanding of the topic studied. During my experience as a tutor I have understood that when the student is interested in the subject, he or she will learn it faster and more in depth. Therefore, I always start my lesson will introducing in a fun and interesting way the topic we will engage in that lesson, giving them an overview of why this is important to learn and what the key themes are. Once the student is engaged, I continue the lesson with teaching and revising details of the subject topic, which I have understood can be the most challenging for students, where they often get bored and have difficulties in focusing. However, through my method, the details become fun to learn after I have ensured that they have a genuine understanding of the broader themes.
