About Sophie
Hi, I'm Sophie, a Psychology and Biotechnology student at the Australian National University. I completed the HSC in 2025 and have an interest in English and essay writing.
As a tutor, I focus on helping students genuinely understand concepts rather than simply memorizing information. I break down difficult topics into manageable steps and tailor my explanations to each student's learning style and needs.
Having recently completed high school myself, I understand the challenges students face and am familiar with current assessment and exam expectations. My goal is to build both confidence and academic skills so that students can become independent and successful learners.
Whether you're looking for help catching up, staying on track, or aiming for top marks, I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where questions are always encouraged.

The lesson plans vary according to the needs of each student. In a typical lesson, I take a structured approach by simplifying the material and explaining it in depth using the learning style that works best for the student (visual, auditory, or reading/writing).
After the content has been delivered and understood, I assess comprehension through multiple-choice or short-answer questions. To accommodate and support the student, I adapt the pace to their level of understanding, either slowing down to reinforce concepts or progressing to more complex content as appropriate.
Lessons can range from 60 to 90 minutes in duration.
I am currently studying a double degree in Psychology and Biotechnology at the Australian National University. I graduated and completed the HSC in 2025 with an ATAR of 85.40.
I am qualified to teach English up to the HSC level (Years 7–12).
