About Jessie
Hi! I’m Jessie, a university student completing my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Biology. I have several years of experience working with students of different ages through tutoring and teaching, and I really enjoy helping students feel more confident in their abilities.
I offer tutoring for students from elementary school through Grade 12 in all core subjects, with a particular strength in science. My university education has given me a strong background in biology, psychology, chemistry, math, statistics, and research, while my teaching experience has helped me learn how to explain difficult concepts in a clear and approachable way.
I know that asking for help can sometimes feel intimidating, so I work hard to create a relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I am patient, reliable, organized, and happy to adjust my teaching style to match each student’s individual needs.
Whether you need help understanding a difficult topic, preparing for an upcoming test, completing homework, or simply building confidence in a subject, I would be happy to help!

My approach to tutoring is patient, encouraging, and personalized to each student. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to the student and break difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps. My goal is not only to help students complete their work, but also to make sure they understand the material and become more confident working independently.
A typical lesson begins by discussing what the student is currently learning and identifying any areas they are struggling with. We then review important concepts together, work through examples, and practice questions or assignments. I encourage students to ask questions and am always happy to explain something in a different way until it makes sense.
I tutor students from elementary school through Grade 12 in a variety of subjects, including math, English, social studies, and general homework support. I especially specialize in the sciences, including biology, chemistry, general science, and psychology-related topics.
As a university student completing a Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology and minor in Biology, I have a strong background in science and experience with both tutoring and teaching. I aim to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel supported, can ask questions without judgment, and build confidence in subjects they may find challenging.
I can help with regular coursework, homework, assignments, test and exam preparation, study strategies, organization, and reviewing concepts that students may have missed or need additional practice with.
