About Kyra
I discovered my love for programming when I realised that simple lines of code could solve problems and create tangible results. This led me to complete a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, and for the past 7 years, I have been teaching students of all skill levels, helping them build foundational knowledge and advanced skills through patient guidance and structured lessons. My focus is always on clarity, understanding, and practical application, ensuring students develop lasting confidence in programming.
I believe teaching programming is not only about instructing on syntax but about cultivating logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity. My approach is interactive, using stepwise explanations, real-world examples, and hands-on exercises. I foster a supportive environment where learners feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes, and gradually mastering new concepts.
Outside of teaching, I continue to explore emerging programming languages, technologies, and project-based applications, which allows me to provide students with relevant and exciting examples. Teaching programming is immensely rewarding as I see learners transform from uncertainty to independence, building confidence that will serve them in future academic pursuits, careers, and personal projects.

Computer programming becomes easier and more enjoyable when students understand the reasoning behind each line of code rather than memorising syntax. My lessons focus on fundamental programming concepts such as variables, loops, conditionals, functions, object-oriented programming, and algorithmic thinking. I explain each topic step by step, providing practical examples and exercises that gradually increase in complexity, allowing students to develop confidence and mastery. By connecting coding principles to real-world applications, I make programming relevant, engaging, and easy to understand.
Lessons are designed according to each student’s level and learning speed. Beginners start with basic logic, simple programmes, and guided exercises to build comfort with code. Intermediate learners progress to problem-solving, modular programming, debugging techniques, and developing small projects. Advanced students focus on optimisation, data structures, and preparing for exams or coding interviews. Every session incorporates hands-on coding practice, explanation of errors, and personalised guidance to ensure students develop strong problem-solving skills and practical coding confidence.
Programming lessons also foster analytical thinking, patience, and logical reasoning that benefit students in other areas of study. As learners gain fluency, they become excited by the ability to create projects and solve complex challenges independently. My goal is to make programming clear, accessible, and motivating so that students can grow into confident, independent coders ready to tackle challenges both academically and professionally.
