About Bryan
I'm a professionally trained vegan chef with 10 years of plant-based cooking experience, currently based in Vancouver.
My experience has spanned from operating restaurants to cooking for private clients & launching an artisanal ice cream business. I currently run 'Ono Roots, a Hawaiian-Japanese vegan fine dining pop-up, where I've cooked across Hawaii, Thailand, Vietnam, and Korea.
I don't just teach cooking, I teach the why behind what makes a dish work. You'll end our lessons feeling empowered to cook more confidently in the kitchen!

We start with a quick conversation about your goals, skill level, and what you have in your kitchen. Then we cook together!
I lead, you follow, and I explain everything as we go. I'll pause to break down technique, answer questions, and troubleshoot in real time. By the end of the lesson, you'll have cooked something real and understand how to replicate and build on it yourself.
These lessons are for all levels! I love helping beginners with the fundamentals as much as I love helping advanced cooks unlock advanced techniques and flavor theory.

I met Bryan through a vegan group in Texas. I had always loved cooking but struggled with making seitan and ice cream from scratch.
