About Beatrice
I am a passionate, organized, and driven professional who loves teaching and tutoring. I have spent my entire career working in education, starting off with a year tutoring literacy and teaching 8th grade science with AmeriCorps in Boston. I have experience writing curriculum and developing lessons in reading, writing, phonics, math, science, social studies, and social emotional learning.
I believe that all students are capable in learning and growing and that tutors and educators have a responsibility to teach in a way that best serves students' strengths.

- Review (Includes main points from prior lesson or a refresh of lagging skills)
- Warm Up (Includes small challenge problem or activity to prepare for the skill of focus for that day)
- Objective Overview/Goal Setting
- Mini Lesson
- Student practice (Will be independently pursued by student with monitoring from tutor to provide feedback during Review)
- Review (Student explains thought processes to tutor to reinforce newly learned skills)
- Reteaching (Done as necessary based on independent practice and review)
- Exit ticket (An assessment that includes skills introduced today and prior skills, used to drive planning for next lesson)
