About Eddie
After winning a Sony music award in 1993 for his self-penned song “Take Me Away” he went on to work with artists such as ‘Jocelyn Brown’, ‘Nine Yards’, ‘Ali Tennant’, and many others. He also went on to do vocal coaching for ‘Leona Lewis’, ‘Mark Morrison’, ‘Hinda Hicks’, ‘Starboy Nathan’, ‘Jade Ewen (Sugababes/Eurovision Song Contest)’, Urban Songstress ‘A.L. (Aleisha Lee - co-writer of the song ‘Girls Like’ for Tinie Tempah), Nigerian Afrobeat Star ‘Tiwa Savage’, Gospel Choir ‘IDMC’, ‘KICC Choir London’ & various other gospel choirs and Youth groups around England as well as teaching at ‘The Hackney Community College’. Eddie has also sung backing vocals for ‘Razorlight’ (The Parkinson Show ITV), ‘The Streets’ (Top of the Pops, Album Chart Show, MTV’s ‘1 Leicester Square’ & Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Dundee). ‘Kubb’ (The Jonathan Ross Show BBC), ‘Rahsaan Patterson’, ‘Nate James’, & ‘Terri Walker’ (MTV Baselounge). In 2022 Eddie spent several months developing many of the newly signed artists of Lynx Entertainment, the largest record label in Ghana. Eddie has a passion for helping singers reach their full potential.

Eddie teaches a wide syllabus, covering subjects such as: Various vocal techniques, voice troubleshooting, breathing techniques, confidence building, structuring a song, phrasing, rhythmic timing, polyphony, harmonies, vocal arrangements, song & lyric writing, using sound resonating areas, tones, pronunciation, getting feel & emotions across in a song, ad-libbing, vibrato, performance, microphone techniques, and much more. Eddie’s vast experience in the music industry could not have been learnt in a classroom and has proved extremely valuable in his teaching methods when it comes to vocal tuition. He provides a realistic & practical perspective to singing, as well as an insight into the biological make-up of the human voice & body in order to show how it works so that his students can understand why things are not working as they should, or why their voice doesn’t sound how they would like it to sound! Eddie’s teaching methods try to include as many of the senses as possible i.e. visual ways of looking at song structure in order to place vocal notes in a song, feeling the vocal tension in order to find the right key in a song, knowing how the diaphragm should feel in order to support the voice, as well as teaching theory through textbooks and diagrams before actually singing a note. So when a person does start to sing they have an understanding of the voice and why they have to do things in a certain way in order to get the right result. Eddie believes that a person can have a great voice but they also need to have the ‘know-how’ so they can sing a song and sing it effectively!

As a beginner I wasn't very confident with my abilities. Eddie was amazing! He not only teaches singing techniques, he also teaches about vocal health. I would fully recommend him.
