Over my years coding and mentoring people , I found out that the best and efficient way to learn programming is by building projects. So over the period of the lessons, we would build fun and real life projects together.
Projects like Simple web forms with validations, A weather app. For more advanced classes, we would build a Telegram chat bot using node js and the open source Telegram bot API.
These are real life projects that you can get to out on your resume.
