About Esahm
Hey there! I'm Esahm, I've been playing the saxophone for nearly 17 years and have performed in nearly every context from Jazz Big Band and orchestras, to Rock bands, Wedding Bands, Pop Stage Performances, and more. Attending Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts gave me the foundation to pursue music on my own terms, and I've been a public performer ever since. I practice a form of teaching that is highly adaptive to my students' needs and desires, opting to encourage them to pursue music in a way that keeps them excited and focuses on what they really want to explore. Having participated in many auditions and competitions myself, I also understand well the competitive pressures of music, and what it takes to prepare for these challenges. I hope to share my passion for music with you!

My approach to teaching takes a bit of the tried-and-true methods of teaching music and combines it with a bit of a new approach to learning music more organically.
Meaning we of course cover technical education in scales, exercises, etudes, and music theory that act as the fundamentals, but also includes a focus on what kind of music the students are passionate about.
Far too often students' innate love for music is hindered by forcing them to learn pieces they aren't actually interested in. In today's world especially, we should be learning and playing music we enjoy from the start of our journeys, not years after.
Who are my lessons for?
- Beginners of all ages: Elementary grade to senior citizens all are welcome.
- Intermediate students: Those looking to move ahead to the next level in performance, improvisation, technique, and more.
- Advanced students: Those looking to grow into a professional level musician and seeking the guidance to reach their highest musical goals.
- Genres: I am a jazz Saxophonist, however I completed a rigorous school of the arts program through high school which required a classical focus, as a result I can provide guidance to those in school still focused on concert band Saxophone.
I also teach funk, blues, rock, and pop Sax.

My teaching fee includes an additional weekly check-in outside of the lesson, 3-4 days after we have a lesson to ensure the student is making progress.
I also include free messaging support so my students can always reach out to me when they have a question during the week.
