About Elisa
My greatest passions in life are languages and teaching! I have a PhD in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures and I was born and raised in Italy, but I lived in different places, including Ireland, Scotland, and Germany. I currently live in Northern Ireland, where I teach and research at Queen’s University Belfast. I have extensive experience in teaching and tutoring. Indeed, I have been tutoring and teaching a variety of subjects for 14 years in various working environments – from large classes to small groups, including private individual tutoring – and at various levels, from primary school pupils to high school students, to university students (both Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree ones), mature students and professionals of all ages and backgrounds.
I offer classes in Italian, German, English, and French.
My priority is to help out my students, whatever their abilities may be, and help them achieve their goals. My timetable is flexible and can be easily adapted to your needs!

I value and encourage independence providing students with strategies to be independent and more effective learners by having them think about how they reason and learn, how they study, and how they manage their studies for the rest of their life.
I also allow the student to reflect on the subject at hand before going on. I always respect students as persons and try to understand their struggles. I’m a motivator as I encourage students to strive to be the best they can, to reach their goals, to recognize their strengths, to focus on learning how to learn so that they will be successful in the future. I also encourage the students to identify several alternative study strategies from which to choose.
