I have experience teaching beginners all the way through college. Whether you are just starting out, or wondering how to prepare an excerpt list for college auditions, festivals, or jobs, I have the experience to help you gain confidence & competency.
My approach to teaching is holistic, patient, warm, & encouraging. I will meet you where you are at & help you find the best way forward to help you improve & meet your goals. Together, we will assess your ability levels, find appropriate method books & repertoire for your studies, & assign specific exercises, etudes, & pieces for you to practice & improve on.
Oboe can also be a bit tricky if you do not have a way to diagnose instrument/reed issues. I can help you find resources like handmade reeds, tools to have on hand for minor repairs/maintenance, online resources for additional help, & more. I'd love to help you move forward on your path to learning the oboe!
Note - I also offer the same services for English horn.
