  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

My journey into music production began in the most unexpected way-through the shared community TV area at my boarding school. Back then, there was only one TV, and it was a gathering point for everyone. When I was in 8th grade, my seniors would often tune in to VH1, which became my gateway to the world of EDM. I still remember the first time I heard Martin Garrix's "Animals" blasting from the speakers-it was electrifying. Alongside that, tracks by Avicii and Hardwell were on repeat, and they created this incredible vibe that felt new and exhilarating to me.

I was fascinated by the beats, the drops, and the energy of the music, and I couldn't stop wondering how these sounds were crafted. It didn't take long for me to start digging into the world of music production, experimenting with basic tools to recreate the music that inspired me. What started as pure curiosity soon became an obsession-I wanted to make music that could evoke the same feelings in others. Boarding school gave me that spark, and it's been burning ever since.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

Teaching music production is deeply personal for me-it feels like my way of giving back to the community that shaped my passion. I remember how overwhelming it was when I first started, with no clear roadmap or guidance. The knowledge I gained over time wasn't just from my own experiments but from others who shared their expertise, whether it was through tutorials, forums, or personal mentorship.

Now, being in a position to share what I've learned feels like a privilege. Every time I teach, I feel like I'm not just passing on technical skills but also helping to grow a community of creative minds. Watching someone go from feeling unsure to confidently creating their own music is an incredibly fulfilling experience. It reminds me that by sharing knowledge, we're building something larger-helping individuals find their voice while contributing to the growth of a vibrant and supportive music community.
  • How does your work help society?

Music has always been a way for people to connect, express emotions, and tell their stories. By teaching music production, I feel like I'm giving others the chance to find their voice and share it with the world. It's not just about learning how to make tracks-it's about empowering people to express themselves creatively and confidently.

I've seen how music can transform lives, whether it's by helping someone cope with emotions, building a sense of accomplishment, or even creating a sense of belonging within a community. When I teach, I know I'm contributing to something bigger than just individual growth. I'm helping people create art that can inspire, heal, and connect with others. To me, that's one of the most meaningful ways to give back to society.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My role models in music production are The Chainsmokers and Jeremy Zucker. The Chainsmokers have this incredible ability to blend infectious beats with deeply relatable lyrics, making their music both energetic and emotional. Their innovative approach to EDM and their willingness to experiment with different sounds have always inspired me to push creative boundaries.

Jeremy Zucker, on the other hand, brings a more intimate and raw vibe to his music. His storytelling and ability to evoke emotion through simple yet powerful production resonate deeply with me. Together, they've shaped the way I think about music-not just as entertainment but as a medium to connect with people on a personal level. Their work inspires me to teach others how to craft music that feels authentic and meaningful.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside of teaching, I love traveling and discovering new places-it's a great way to meet people, experience different cultures, and find inspiration for my music. I'm also an avid reader, and I enjoy diving into books that expand my perspective or teach me something new.

Another passion of mine is investing and learning about the stock market. I find it fascinating how markets operate and how strategic thinking can lead to long-term growth. It's a completely different world from music production, but it keeps me engaged and constantly learning. These hobbies keep me balanced and help fuel both my creativity and analytical side.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One moment that stands out in my teaching journey happened when a student came to me completely convinced they had no talent for music. They were hesitant, self-conscious, and even joked about being "tone-deaf." But I could see their curiosity and willingness to learn. We started small-exploring the basics, experimenting with sounds, and building their confidence step by step.

A few months later, they produced their first track. It wasn't just a technical achievement; it was a reflection of their creativity and growth. When they played it back to me, the pride and joy on their face were unforgettable. Moments like that remind me why I love teaching-it's about unlocking potential that people didn't even know they had. It's incredibly rewarding to be part of that journey.
