About Franceska
I'm a practising fine artist whose work spans painting, printmaking, drawing and sculpture, rooted in traditional observational methods and a deep attention to the natural world.
My formal training began at the Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri, USA, where I completed a BFA in Painting and Printmaking with a focus on figurative oil painting.
I later completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Art and Science at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, and then completed further training at Pinewood Studios, followed by my recent level 5 City & Guilds qualification in Transpersonal Art for Health and Wellbeing from the Tobias School of Art and Therapy.
Teaching has been part of my practice for more than thirty years, working with students across the UK and the USA, both online and in person. My approach centres on understanding how each student learns so I can adapt my teaching methods for using exercises of mark‑making and observational techniques to support their development.
I find that my art practice thrives when I can share what I know with others, which is why I love teaching!
I work best with learners who value dedication, patience and the importance of process over product.

I teach drawing and painting through a steady observational discipline shaped by long studio practice. Lessons run for an hour and follow a structured progression in technique, accuracy, composition, and critical looking.
With over thirty years’ experience as a practising fine artist and tutor, I work with A‑Level students, foundation applicants, and adults who want serious, methodical study rather than casual art sessions. My teaching suits learners who value clarity, patience, and a traditional approach to developing their craft.
