My name is Daniel Barnett. I am a native-speaking American English Teacher with a neutral accent, as well as an experienced and certified teacher. I have teaching endorsements in TESOL, TEFL, TESL, and TEYL. I have more than 7 years of experience as an Online ESL Teacher and more than 10 years of experience in the physical classroom. I am also a lifelong learner myself; and I am continually seeking ways to improve and advance my teaching skills and the results of my students' progress. Education is my passion!

Teaching Style is paramount when it comes to selecting the right English teacher. I would describe my teaching style as highly adaptable. I do not particularly prefer one teaching method; or one way of interacting with my students in the classroom environment. Because in my opinion, each class is different, so is each lesson, and a good teacher should always adjust their teaching to their audience, the level of discipline in the class, the difficulty of the lesson, and so on. I simply prefer the individual approach to teaching, and I alternate between being an authority, demonstrator, facilitator, and delegator. So far it has been working great, so I have no reason to doubt the effectiveness of my teaching style. I would describe it as results-driven. Since I typically work with students one on one, I always try to clearly define the goals with each one. Not what I want to achieve, but what they want to achieve, and what they expect from our cooperation. Then, considering their current level of language skills, and what kind of personality they have, I come up with a clear plan for each lesson. I choose my teaching methods based on each individual student, adjusting them to the plan and the ultimate goal that each student has for each lesson.
In addition to teaching, I am also an extremely active person. I have many hobbies and interests that are not limited to Baseball, Distance Running, Basketball, Hiking, Swimming, Camping, Reading, Education, and Current Events. I am also quite active in my community.
I have been teaching for +17 years. I have been an Online ESL Teacher for more than 7 years, and have also taught ESL in many different schools and countries throughout the world for 10+ years prior to that. I have been an English Teacher, Math Teacher, Corporate Trainer, Private Tutor, Baseball Coach, and Soldier. My passion is education and helping other people. I have been in Education, Education Management, and Business Administration throughout my entire career.
