About James
I am a professional jazz double bassist with a 1st class degree from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (RBC) and extensive experience on the UK music scene, both performing and recording. I have been offering private tuition for 2-3 years now, and my most recent student has just earned a place on the jazz course at RBC. One of my greatest achievements to date was being a finalist on the BBC young jazz musician award 2018.

My main teaching principles revolve around practical application. As well as teaching the bass (electric and double), i offer classes in music theory, composition and improvisation (all instrument) and focus on how each of these topics can be used in the creation of music in a fun and informative way.
