I've worked with beginner students of all ages, helping them go from knowing nothing to having real, simple conversations in Chinese. I focus on speaking and listening — because that's what beginners need most. Every lesson is tailored to your pace and goals. I break things down into small, manageable steps so you never feel overwhelmed.
If you're worried your pronunciation sounds clumsy or you think you are just not good at imitating new sounds, I want you to know that it's completely normal. Every beginner feels that way. You don't need to sound perfect. You don't need to get it right the first time. All you need to do is show up, and I'll handle the rest at your pace. You're not bad at this. You're just new. And new is exactly where I can help you most. So go ahead and book your first lesson, you might be surprised how quickly things start to click!
Outside of teaching, I run a podcast where I narrate stories, so I spend a lot of time thinking about how Chinese sounds — the rhythm, the emotion, and the distinctive Eastern aesthetic sensibility. And that's actually what I love most about teaching: showing students that Chinese is so much more than just vocabulary and grammar. So if you're interested in culture — real culture, not just textbook stuff — we can dive into them in our lessons.
