About Safi
I am a professional illustrator, I am currently working as a freelance artist taking orders for designs for book covers, tattoos, logos, posters etc. I am also dedicating myself to my own illustration stand and presenting at fairs and exhibitions. My training was partially self-taught, but I also studied Fine Arts (at the Antonio Berni School), Graphic Design (at the UBA), I did animation courses (which included an introductory seminar and a 2D animation course at Animaclick) and drawing workshops with live model. I try to be constantly training and growing as an artist.

My classes are oriented to all ages. First, it is important to make a diagnosis of the student: his / her foundations (if he / she is beginning or has previous knowledge), his interests (style, traditional or digital media) and objectives. From there, I adapt what I know to what he / she is looking for. In general, I start with a copy of the natural (be it photos or not), that is, realism. In this stage the basic notions are acquired (such as proportions, structure, chiaroscuro, texture, color and value, etc). But, unless that is the style that the student wants to follow, realism will be only a base to then explore different stylizations (such as cartoon, anime, comic, etc) and guide the student to develop their own style. All this is achieved through different exercises (some more playful than others) and supported by reference material that I provide the student myself (references, books, guides and online tutorials, etc). Additionally, I can give an initiation on traditional and digital 2D animation.
