About Joe
Having worked for independent comic companies drawing stories that honed my skills and gaining attention from professional companies such as Marvel and DC, my knowledge makes me a valuable tutor. Some of the characters I've worked on are Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Superman, Justice League, and many other comic books. I feel my skill set and industry perspective in the competitive comic book market. I have been a part of a studio collective of seasoned pros that trained together to push our talents to the top of our industry.

Having worked on over 500 comic stories for Marvel and DC comics I will interact students in learning and perfecting the basics in comic book construction. My experience in the industry will helps students learn how to stand out in an industry filled with average skills to pop out of the crowd when their work appears to editors and publishers. I will start by teaching how to do break downs from a writer script, followed by layout design to make reading the art so it tells the stories without the dialogue. A comic book is first and foremost a visual skill. I'll teach them character design and how to convey facial and body language. I'll teach them different finishing techniques to develop their own style.
