About Matias
Raised in Viña del Mar, 27 years old, student of Computer Civil Engineering at the Federico Santa María Technical University. Throughout my childhood, I had a hard time understanding anything that was taught to me at school, whether due to a lack of motivation or a very bad foundation; whatever the reason, when entering the First Middle, I set out to overcome those barriers that prevented me from having good academic performance, and although it took a lot of effort on my part at the beginning, I managed to get ahead. My constant motivation to raise my hand during classes, a change in my reasoning and a continuous questioning of all the things that they taught me, led me to realize that Medio Medio was the easiest year because, during all the trajectory, I developed my intellectual capacity thanks to my motivation to do it, so much so, that of going on to have a 3.8 final average in Eighth Basic in fields such as Mathematics, I approved Fourth Medium with final average 7.0 in the same field, and others like Chemistry and Physics, without having studied or read a book, nor written down a single note during the entire school year. This is because once my foundations in mathematics were solid and coherent, the whole school became a piece of cake. I had become smart thanks to my effort, I quickly became the best in math class, I was in the most advanced course and I received the math prize for having graduated with the highest grade. The previous thing took me to that from the 17 already I was teaching mathematics as much to my companions as offering my services like tutor to other children of the city. Over the years I have learned from my mistakes as a teacher, I have improved my strategies and my ways and perfected a strategy that I consider proper when teaching mathematics. It's been 10 years since I started teaching math and I have not stopped. When giving the PSU of Mathematics, apply all the strategies and knowledge to give the best proof of my life, obtaining 835 points in the test and entering the career of Engineering at the University of Chile. As an engineering student of the best school of physical sciences and mathematics in Chile I managed to improve and deepen my knowledge of mathematics, so by applying this knowledge to my classes, they were further improving my skills to reach my students from different angles . After 4 years, and due to economic difficulties in Santiago, I had to abandon my career and return to Viña del Mar, hoping to start as an excellent private and professional teacher. At the same time, I have entered the career of Computer Engineering of the UTFSM, and with my private classes, I will be able to finance my education.

I adapt to each student, since each student is different. I like to use technology to my advantage, making use of my iPad Pro I teach without spending paper while being able to send the class in PDF or recorded to my students so that later they can rewatch them in their homes if in person they remained with doubts. I also use many applications designed for learning mathematics, depending on the need. My priority is to make my students reason, think and learn to learn and solve problems on their own. I do not expect you to memorize and exercise, I hope you understand what you are learning and questioning the why of all things. I like to REDISCOVER the theory with my students instead of just exposing them as most teachers do. I try to make my classes as calm and interesting as possible.
