About Gracelyn
My name is Gracelyn and I been in just about all music environments since I was tiny! I just graduated from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, and I am working as a Behavior Analyst for children with autism on the side! My degree is in Psychology and a Minor in Counseling, and I plan to eventually get a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Overall, my greatest passion is working with people and illuminating passions and things that add to people's quality of life!
When I was young, I always told my mom I didn't like piano as much, and I remember her telling me that we simply needed to find my area of passion. After a few years, I was offered the gift of joining a worship team at my church and immediately fell in love with chords and lead sheets! At the age of 14 I had the opportunity of starting my own business of teaching piano, and happily began this journey because I wanted to be able to show as many kids as possible that music can be tailored to one's passions--whatever those many be! I look forward to connecting with you and figuring out what jumpstarts yours or your child's passions!!

My 4 years of teaching have led me to root my methods and techniques on personalized education. As a Behavior Analyst with a degree in psychology, I have been educated in many methods to promote growth in learning settings all dependent on age, environment, and interests.
A typical lesson plan utilizes scales and arpeggios while also using physical books such as "A-Dozen-A-Day," "Bastien Piano Song Books," and a variety of theory books.
Because of my bachelors degree, experience in behavior reinforcers, and many years of piano instructing experience, I offer lessons that will captivate students of all ages. Creating an environment that specializes in individualism and personalized training sets me apart from other tutors. I also have experience in worship (using chords and lead sheets) as well as accompaniment, so I offer resources across the board.
I specialize in individuals from 4-16 years of age.
