About Lucas
Hi I'm Lucas, a third-year electric bass major at Vancouver Community College, where I'm honing my performance and theoretical skills. My musical journey began during my teenage years, where I played guitar and bass in local bands, gaining valuable experience in collaboration and live performances. Additionally, I pursued music production studies at Nimbus School of Arts, acquiring knowledge in recording and producing contemporary music. A few notable career achievements are I got to perform at the legendary Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver with a former band. Also In 2020, I released my debut singer-songwriter album, Everywhere I Stay. Currently I am the bassist for The Foxwoods and The Shane Terry Band, staying active in Vancouver’s music scene. My goal to get my degree in Music and then become a music teacher one day.

My Approach as a Tutor I offer private electric bass and guitar lessons focused on strong fundamentals, technique, rhythm, and essential theory; tailored to each student’s goals and musical taste. I believe that when you're just starting out, it’s much easier to stay motivated if you're learning songs you actually enjoy. My goal is to get to know the music you love and help you play it with confidence and skill. As a VCC Music Diploma graduate and active performer, I bring both academic knowledge and real-world experience to my teaching. I focus on making lessons clear, engaging, and directly applicable to performance. Lessons are ideal for beginners to advanced bassists, beginner to intermediate guitarists. Whether you want to groove/jam better, understand theory, or just enjoy learning your favorite songs, I’ll help you build your skills with confidence.
