About Flora
My name is Flora, I have been teaching in the UK for over 9 years. I love my job because I get to improve children's confidence by helping them learn, whilst having fun at the same time!
I hold a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) from Kingston University and a BA (Hons) in Geography (First Class) from the University of Nottingham.

-I have 9 years experience as a primary school teacher and 5 years experience tutoring children from ages 6-13
-Each tutoring session is completely tailored to the needs of the student
-I ensure learning is fun and interactive by incorporating games, quizzes and practical resources in my sessions
-I keep children engaged by breaking up each session into smaller, manageable activities
-A typical session length would be 1-2 hours depending on what needs to be covered and how old the student is
-I have extensive experience teaching phonics and have completed the SoundsWrite and LittleWandle phonics programmes
-I am able to assess and cover gaps in learning by targeting specific knowledge and practices from The New Zealand Curriculum (Phases 1, 2 and 3)
-I can focus on particular areas of need relating to vocabulary development, spelling, reading, writing, comprehension and handwriting.
-I have supported many dyslexic children and always use dyslexia friendly resources
-As literacy specialist in my previous school, I am passionate about empowering children by encouraging a love for creative writing
-I have experience supporting children with 11+ exam preparation
