As a qualified primary school teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience, I am passionate about supporting young children to develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. Throughout my career, I have taught Reception and have previous experience teaching Year 1 and Year 2, giving me a thorough understanding of the EYFS and Key Stage 1 curriculum, as well as the skills children need to make a successful transition through their early education.
I believe every child is unique and learns in their own way. My teaching approach is nurturing, patient, and tailored to each child’s individual needs, interests, and learning style. I create engaging, enjoyable lessons that build confidence while developing key literacy, numeracy, communication, and problem-solving skills. Whether a child needs extra support to keep up, help preparing for Year 1, or additional challenge to extend their learning, I adapt my teaching to help them achieve their full potential.
As a Reception teacher, I have extensive experience in phonics, early reading, writing, mathematics, and learning through play. My previous experience in Years 1 and 2 has also given me a strong understanding of the increasing expectations within Key Stage 1, enabling me to support children as they progress through these important stages.
Building positive relationships with children and their families is at the heart of my practice. I work closely with parents to ensure they feel informed and involved in their child’s learning journey, providing regular feedback and practical strategies to continue learning at home.
