I have recently been tutoring a year 4 student who is a family friend. She was struggling with home schooling with the virus but with both virtual meetings and socially distanced meetings in gardens we have made huge progress which is evident in her work submitted to her school teacher. I have also had some work experience through my University course, where I have mostly taught Maths.

Hi! I’m a Primary Education with a Maths Specialism student at the University of Brighton. I’m in my first year currently. I’m originally from Kent and have experience working with children from ages 2 to 12, through work experience in Primary Schools and Pre-School as well as volunteering as a Brownie leader. I can offer tutoring for the 11 plus exams, SATs or any primary school level tutoring, particularly in maths, which is my strongest subject. I am happy to work through pre-set lessons from schools or create educational content to help tutoring. My teaching methods involve looking at learning objectives and intended learning outcomes which will help to provide a structure to the lesson. Lessons I have prepared will include a 5-10 minute introduction, with a 45 minute main lesson, and finally a 5-10 minute plenary where all learning will be summed up. Lessons will be fun, colourful and interactive as I believe these will help learning as well as creating a relaxed atmosphere.

Tash is a Brownie Leader and currently studying Primary Education with mathematics at the University of Brighton. During the current global health crisis, she has been giving 1-1 tuition over Zoom for KS2 pupil coping with home schooling.
