About Marita
I am a third-year primary education student with a passion for supporting children’s learning and development. I have gained valuable experience through placements in primary schools across Scotland, working with pupils of different ages and abilities. I am particularly interested in literacy and enjoy helping children build confidence in reading and writing. I am patient, organised, and committed to creating a positive, supportive learning environment where every child feels encouraged to succeed.

My approach to tutoring is child-centred, supportive, and engaging. I focus on building strong relationships so learners feel confident and motivated. I use a structured literacy approach, combining phonics, reading comprehension, spelling, and writing, while adapting activities to suit each child’s needs, interests, and learning style.
A typical lesson lasts 45–60 minutes. Sessions usually begin with a short warm-up or recap, followed by a focused teaching input, guided practice, and then an independent or creative task such as writing or comprehension. Each lesson ends with feedback and a brief review of progress.
My lessons are suitable for primary-aged children, from early years developing basic phonics and reading skills to upper primary pupils needing support with comprehension, spelling, and written work.
