About Nick
Hi everyone! My name is Nick Subbie, and I’m an incoming first-year psychiatry resident physician in Oklahoma City. I completed medical school at OSU-COM in Tulsa, after earning my undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma. Outside of medicine, I’m a proud dad of two and soon-to-be husband to the love of my life! I’m launching two hour-long coaching sessions designed specifically for premedical students who are navigating the overwhelming journey to medical school. My goal is to shed light on the hidden curriculum—the unspoken expectations and behind-the-scenes knowledge that can make or break your path to becoming a doctor. As a nontraditional student from a non-medical family, I vividly remember how hard it was to find the right guidance—whether it was securing shadowing opportunities, finding meaningful volunteer work, or simply figuring out what steps to take next. Many of my peers had physicians in their families, and I want to help level the playing field for those who don’t. Whether you’re a traditional student or a career changer, I’d love to be a resource for you. The path to medicine is full of hoops to jump through, and it’s tough enough without going it alone. I’m here to share the tools, insights, and support I wish I had—so you can focus on becoming the physician you’re meant to be. Let’s make this journey a little more manageable—together!
