About Xhiko
I am a pre-med neuroscience student with a strong passion for teaching science and helping students succeed. With a solid background in biology and chemistry, I focus on breaking down complex topics into simple, clear explanations that students can actually understand and apply.
I have several years of experience working with students, including tutoring middle schoolers in math and science and supporting ESL learners with English. These experiences have helped me develop patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt my teaching style to different learning needs. I have also worked as a swim instructor, which strengthened my ability to teach younger students in a structured and supportive way.
As a tutor, I am professional, organized, and committed to each student’s progress. I create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to help students truly understand the material and become more independent learners.
I work with middle school and high school students in science, especially biology and chemistry, and I tailor each session to fit the student’s level and goals.

My approach as a tutor is focused on making science understandable, engaging, and confidence-building. I don’t just aim for students to memorize information, I want them to actually understand why things work, so they can apply concepts on their own.
I use a step-by-step teaching style where I break down complex biology and chemistry topics into simple, clear ideas. I adapt to each student’s learning style, whether that means using diagrams, real-life examples, or practice problems. I also emphasize active learning by asking questions throughout the session, encouraging students to explain concepts back to me, and guiding them rather than just giving answers.
A standard session starts with a quick check-in and review of previous material to identify any gaps. Then I introduce or revisit a concept, explaining it in a structured and easy-to-follow way. After that, we move into guided practice where we solve problems together. As the student gains confidence, I shift to independent practice. I always end with a short recap and key takeaways to reinforce learning.
As a pre-med neuroscience student, I have a strong foundation in science and understand how to connect concepts across biology and chemistry. I also know what it’s like to struggle with difficult material and improve over time, so I focus on building confidence as much as knowledge. My sessions are supportive, patient, and tailored to each student, making it easier for them to stay engaged and motivated.
My lessons are designed for middle school and high school students, especially those taking general science, biology, or chemistry courses. I work well with students who need help understanding core concepts, preparing for exams, or improving their overall performance in class, including those who may need extra support or a more personalized pace.
