About K Loong
I am an ARB-registered architect and RIBA member with professional experience across residential, hospitality, interior and architectural projects in the UK and internationally.
I studied Interior Architecture and Design at Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore before completing my BSc (Hons) Architecture, Diploma in Architecture and professional qualification in the UK.
Alongside practice, I have taught architectural and interior design students and participated in university design workshops, tutorials and project reviews.
This combination of practice and teaching shapes the way I work with students. I am interested not simply in whether a project looks convincing, but in helping you understand why you are making particular architectural decisions and how those decisions can be developed into a coherent spatial proposition.
I do not provide software tuition or design projects on a student's behalf. My role is to help you develop your own project, judgement and architectural voice.

My approach is not to design the project for you or tell you what it should look like. Instead, I help you identify what is important in your work, question the decisions you are making, and develop your ideas with greater clarity.
I am particularly interested in the relationship between concept, spatial experience, materiality, occupation and construction. An architectural idea becomes meaningful when it begins to inform how a place is organised, inhabited and made.
You can send me your current drawings, sketches or portfolio before the session so that we can use our time to focus directly on your project.
The sessions are suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate architecture students, as well as students preparing portfolios for architecture school applications. You do not need to arrive with a resolved project. Sometimes the most useful session happens precisely when you are unsure what to do next.
First session.
The initial session is an opportunity for me to understand your project, where you are in your studies and what you would like help with. We can look briefly at your current work, identify the main questions or difficulties, and discuss how future sessions could be most useful to you.
