About Darrel
I am autistic and have ADHD, so I understand from lived experience the gap between knowing what needs to happen and being able to organise, begin and consistently follow it through.
I also understand overthinking, cognitive overload, fluctuating capacity, over-explaining and the frustration of being capable while still finding certain everyday demands disproportionately difficult.
I am a co-founder of NLX, where my work focuses on organisational performance, leadership, workplace systems and helping people turn complex problems into practical action. My wider experience includes mentoring, stakeholder engagement, presentations, business development and supporting people to communicate more clearly.
I am also completing an ILM Level 6 qualification in Leadership and Management. My mentoring approach has received a genuine five-star review on Superprof.
My style is supportive, structured and honest. I will help you identify the real obstacle, challenge plans that are unlikely to be sustainable and work with you to build practical next steps that fit your circumstances.
I will not judge you for unfinished tasks or expect you to become a completely different person. The aim is to help you understand how you work, make more intentional decisions and create systems you have a realistic chance of maintaining.

Living with ADHD can mean knowing what needs to happen but struggling to decide where to begin, organise competing priorities or consistently follow things through.
You may feel overwhelmed by tasks that appear straightforward to other people. You might create plans that become too complicated, repeatedly overcommit, avoid important conversations or lose momentum when your energy and capacity change.
I provide structured, practical support for adults who want to understand what is getting in their way and develop ways of working that are realistic for them.
We will start with a genuine situation from your life rather than following a generic programme. Depending on what you need, sessions may help you:
• Sort competing priorities and decide what needs attention first
• Break overwhelming tasks into clear, manageable actions
• Create simple planning, reminder and accountability systems
• Prepare for deadlines, appointments or important conversations
• Communicate your needs more clearly at work or in education
• Prepare to discuss possible reasonable adjustments
• Recognise patterns of avoidance, overcommitting or burnout
• Plan around fluctuating energy, focus and capacity
• Review what worked, what did not and what needs adapting
Sessions are 60 minutes and take place online. We will focus on one main issue at a time and finish with a small number of clear actions, rather than an unrealistic list that creates more pressure.
My approach is particularly suitable for late-diagnosed adults, professionals, mature students and people who have spent years trying to force themselves to use systems that do not suit how they think. You do not need a formal diagnosis to work with me.
I work with adults aged 18 and over. This is practical mentoring and accountability support, not therapy, ADHD treatment, diagnosis, medical advice, legal advice, crisis support or specialist child/SEND tuition.
