About David

I am a Canadian tutor with a postgraduate degree in Musicology.
I have been teaching privately since secondary education, tutoring students in maths, english, writing, history, chemistry and music.
I have run group workshops in essay writing and music theory/ history at the undergraduate level.

About the lesson

In my lessons I always seek to adapt to the learning needs of my students.
In our first lesson I'll seek to understand your learning style, and create lesson plans and structures that suit your needs.
I try to teach in a logical, context-oriented style and avoid rote learning in favour of understanding key concepts.
My goal is to give you the tools to grow and understand. You won't just know the answer, you'll know why the question exists in the first place.

My lessons in academics are suited up to:
A levels in Mathematics and Chemistry
Undergraduate essay writing
Undergraduate music history/theory
