About Isabelle
My name's Izzy.
I'm a commencing third-year medical student that loves teaching!
In addition to my current role as a histopathology tutor (Griffith School of Medicine and Dentistry), I enjoy helping students achieve their dreams by effective GAMSAT preparation.
I recognize that preparing for the GAMSAT can be daunting.
As someone that achieved a very competitive section III score (98th percentile), I can help you achieve your section III goals by:
1) Providing some structure for your GAMSAT preparation.
2) Sitting down with you and making sure we complete some practice questions together during lesson time.
3) Teaching you my systematic approach for answering section III questions, which improves performance.
4) Building your confidence, by being continuously encouraging and recognizing your existing strengths.
5) Whenever applicable, providing insights into the GAMSAT, the medical school application process, and med school itself.

Techniques/Teaching Methodology:
- Upon you scheduling a lesson, I ask which areas you'd like to work on
- I prepare a PowerPoint presentation in preparation for our lesson and email it to you so you can annotate it
- I teach you the relevant content, we go through practice questions together and I set some suggested tasks until next lesson

- Overall GAMSAT score of 71
- BBiomedSc(Hons)
- Doctor of Medicine (entering year 3)
Experience:
- 6 months tutoring with GradReady GAMSAT. Resigned because I realised I could achieve better outcomes via private tutoring. Average student evaluation for December and January of 8.67/10. Received extensive training in response to student feedback
- 1 year (ongoing) tutoring Histopathology for preclinical medical students. Competitive position awarded for high achievement in first year medicine
- 1 year tutoring with Access Monash Program
- 8 months tutoring high school mathematics
