About Martin
I am currently studying for a BSc in Physics (Astrophysics) with The Open University, alongside an academic background that includes two postgraduate degrees and previous experience teaching and supervising students in higher education.
I enjoy physics because I want to understand why things work, rather than simply memorising equations and procedures. That is also how I approach teaching. I aim to break difficult ideas down into clear, manageable steps, connect the mathematics to the physical meaning behind it, and help students develop the confidence to tackle unfamiliar problems for themselves.
I particularly enjoy mathematical physics, astronomy and relativity, but the most rewarding part of teaching is helping a student reach the point where something that previously seemed impossible suddenly makes sense.

My lessons are from the bottom up. We start with the very basics and expand as we go. Each student is different so the pace is set to your needs, not the curriculum. And we break down the maths and don't ignore it.
I have degrees in several subjects from English Lit, Physics, Herbal Medicine, and Medieval History and I am currently studying Astrophysics at degree level.
Who do I teach? Teens in year 10-11 with an interest in the sciences.
