About Madeline
I am a piano tutor with over 3 years of experience teaching both in-person and online, holding a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with a Pedagogy focus. My teaching philosophy emphasizes developing sight-reading fluency, score analysis, and the ability to interpret complex classical repertoire with nuance and expression. I tailor lessons to each student’s individual needs, incorporating music history, theory, finger exercises, and period performance practices. Students from Beginner to Advanced levels, as well as Professional and Expert classical pianists, have benefited from my guidance. My piano teaching approach emphasizes developing strong ear training skills to help students become more intuitive musicians. I work closely with Composers and Digital Producers, helping them recognize musical patterns without relying on sheet music. Students learn to listen critically, internalize harmonic and melodic structures, and reproduce music confidently. Exercises include interval recognition, chord identification, rhythmic dictation, and melodic transcription. I tailor lessons to each student’s skill level, making them engaging and practical for beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners. My methodology balances technical exercises with creative application, encouraging improvisation and real-world musical exploration. Students develop confidence in playing, composing, and producing music by ear. Lessons integrate theory, listening practice, and hands-on keyboard exercises to strengthen auditory skills. I provide continuous feedback to guide progress and reinforce learning. Students gain independence in recognizing patterns and understanding musical structures intuitively.
