About Andrew
I have extensive experience of teaching, performance, production, musical direction and teaching, in a range of styles on both piano and violin; working in London’s West End and internationally. As a solo artist I have recorded five albums, given piano and violin recitals and established a recording studio. Having also worked in a number of bands and collaborative teams, as an accompanist on the international opera scene and a session musician, I have achieved considerable professional acclaim. Good day and thank you for reading my profile. I bring to my teaching enthusiasm, fun, professionalism and a love of music. I teach in all styles, ages, and abilities.
I have gained a wealth of professional experience from the top of the music and theatre professions; for example from my classical recitals, to performances including world-famous Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre in the West End of London, and being Musical Director at The Almeida Theatre, Islington.
I bring these skills to the lessons within the framework of effective teaching & learning. My training for the Licentiate Of The Royal Schools Of Music has given me both innumerable technical teaching methods, along with musicality and also the license to teach piano & violin, equally effectively to beginners and advanced players.
I'm looking forward to speaking to you :)

Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
My son has had violin lessons with Andrew for almost a year now. My son is easily distracted but Andrew has been very patient with him and has been good at explaining things. My 9 year old is enjoying his lessons and has progressed very well.
Andrew taught my daughter for a couple of years and I must say he is a very skilled and a amazing teacher my daughter was extremely happy with him as he taught her what she needed to improve on and how to achieve her goals. I recommend Andrew 100%
Andrew is an excellent teacher and we are really grateful for his hard work. He is so good with our daughter and is able to motivate her to continue learning piano. He is very flexible when we need to change the date or time of the lesson and is fair when charging for the lessons.
Great energy, enthusiasm and knowledge of the subject. Really helpful and shapes the sessions to the students needs; I’d highly recommend
As a violinist, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from several tutors over the years, and I can confidently say that Andrew stands out as one of the best. He has a remarkable ability to refine even the smallest details in technique while keeping the bigger picture of musicality and expression at the forefront.
I know Andrew through his contribution to the entertainment at my festival Black Deer. I cannot say enough positive things about Andrew. He is a talented and charismatic artist and very inclusive. I would totally recommend him both as a person and a teacher
Andy is an old friend. But more importantly an amazing fiddle and piano player.
Plus a kind and supportive teacher.Andrew is an excellent teacher, he is very entertaining, funny and was able to engage and motivate our daughter very well. Our daughter used to look forward to remote piano lessons as she had a great time. Thanks to his teaching methods and hard work our daughter got a distinction in piano exam. Highly recommended! Thank you Andrew.
I met Andrew during the pandemic era, looking to move my music lessons online.
Since then, Andrew has been consistently reliable and with his teaching style.
For example, we have studied sight-reading through using songs we know and finding it's sheet music online.
The online lessons help me overall with my busy schedule as they are flexible and do not waste time in travelling. The occasional face to face lessons gives me the chance play together and perform the pieces we've learned.
I recommend Andrew for piano and/or violin lessons as he has the experience and can teach them well.A great tutor caters to each student for their lessons. Good for all levels and different styles on violin lessons.
Thank you Andrew for sending me this link. I’ve known Andrew for a year now a year. During this time I have acted as his personal assistant on a part-time basis and therefore have seen his lesson planning and the diligent way he approaches all his teaching. He teaches using advanced differentiation skills, that is to say he finds a way of putting across the lesson in a way that would benefit the student based on their personality, age and ability et cetera. He’s punctual fun polite and highly professional. I would not hesitate to recommend him as a piano, violin, music technology teacher. He is also an excellent vocal coach too.
Andrew was my piano teacher and he has a great positive attitude when it comes to teaching. I have learnt some great techniques with him and my piano playing has improved. If you want to improve on your playing and learn some new techniques, Andrew is highly recommended.
