About Sarah
I’ve been working as a professional Piano Teacher for over ten years now and I can honestly say I can’t think of anything else that would bring me such joy every day! I love working with students of all ages and abilities and get so much satisfaction from seeing how they grow and develop in their skills and performance. My unique approach to teaching encourages students to excel in their strengths whether that's in sight reading, improvising, or even composing your own music! Most importantly, I encourage students to have fun and I love to create my own games and resources for students to learn from! I strive to ensure that the student gets the most out of their lessons based on their individual needs and goals. As a film composer alongside teaching, I am passionate to encourage students to also get creative in their learning. With that, I currently teach film scoring, composition, and music theory at Thinkspace Education. Thus, with my extensive and diverse background in teaching and composing, my students are guaranteed to get a high standard of teaching.
Qualifications:
MPhil in Music & Media Technologies

As a composer, I've also worked on a wide range of projects! Sarah’s music and arrangements have been performed by the National Symphony Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in venues including the Royal Albert Hall and the National Concert Hall. In 2023, I co-arranged and co-orchestrated the 'Nintendo Suite' with Eímear Noone which is comprised of a selection of renowned video game music themes. This had its first world premiere at the BBC NOW Gaming Concert 2023 performed by the the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Since then, it has been featured in several concerts including ’Video Games Music in Concert’ at Usher Hall, Scotland in May 2023 and 2024, and at Telekom Forum Bonn, Germany in March 2024. Furthermore, in 2023 I arranged and orchestrated ‘Not an Apology’ for Eímear Noone’s 'Daughters of the Pirate Queen' concert at the National Concert Hall in Dublin.
Working as an assistant for renowned film and video game composers Eímear Noone and Craig Stuart Garfinkle, I assisted on a range of projects. These range from the highly acclaimed animated feature film 'The Canterville Ghost' (2023), Stewart Copeland’s ‘Police Deranged for Orchestra’ album (2023), the highly successful Netflix series 'Maxine' (2022), and the 'Legends of the Hidden
Temple' series (2021-2022). In 2025, I assisted composer Anna Rice for Ruán Magan’s ‘Our Blue World - A Water Odyssey’. In 2023, Sarah wrote the music for a Spaghetti Western short film ‘Vengeance of the Brotherhood’ (2023).

Piano Lessons that set you apart!
Our unique approach to teaching encourages students to excel in their strengths whether in sight reading, improvising, or even composing your own music! Most importantly, we encourage students to have fun and be creative!
What's the Lesson Format?
A typical lesson is 30 mins starting with a focus on technique and agility by starting out with scales & warm-ups followed by sight reading or ear training exercises, playing through any pieces + isolating tricky sections and finally, ending with some games where we get creative such as with improvising or composing!
What makes your approach to teaching different?
Our aim is not to just get you playing and learning music, but we also encourage our students to explore the creative possibilities of their skills and try out some composing too! Who knows, you could be the next John Williams and you don't know it yet?!
We also encourage independence in your playing so that you become equipped to go and learn pieces yourself without needing to depend on your teacher to guide you!
We cater to exactly what YOU want to get out of your lessons whether that's learning to read music or maybe you want to learn by ear! ! You tell us and we'll teach!
Who are the lessons for?
All age ranges and abilities! We teach young and old and our highly successful approach to teaching has worked wonders with great results and satisfaction from all of our students! We also cater to all learning styles to ensure to keep you engaged, motivated and excited for your lessons!
Recommendations

Sarah was my piano teacher before she moved and her preparedness and patience is what stood out to me most. Sarah was always enthusiastic and ready to teach. If not for her, my progress in learning to play the piano would have been a lot slower. As I progressed, Sarah also allowed me to choose music that I would like to learn which helped me to stay motivated. Overall, Sarah is a great piano teacher.
I’ve had the privilege of learning piano from Sarah for many years through in-person lessons, and she is a fantastic teacher. Her lessons are always very well-organized, engaging, and suited to your pace.

I’d highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn or get better at piano!Sarah is an amazing composer and piano teacher. I've had the pleasure of working with her for over 6 years and she never disappoints. Her attention to detail with students is refreshing. She also loves to put a special touch on lessons with fun games and surprises.
I am very happy to recommend Sarah as a piano teacher who was recommended to us through another student of hers. Sarah has a wonderful teaching style, combining patience and creativity with her genuine passion for music. Her lessons are engaging and really well-structured. Sarah helped my niece build great foundational skills while instilling a love for playing the piano. Sarah is incredibly positive and encouraging and makes students feel comfortable while making progress at their own pace. Most importantly, Sarah makes lessons fun! Highly recommend!
