About Carly
I completed a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and have spent the last 5 years helping students build meaningful relationships with music. My passion for piano developed through years of study, performance opportunities, and collaborative music-making. Teaching became a natural path because I enjoy helping others discover the rewards of musical growth. Supporting learners as they gain confidence remains one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work.
My teaching style balances structure with creativity. I believe students benefit most when technical development and musical expression grow together. Lessons are adapted to each learner’s needs while maintaining clear goals and expectations. Students receive guidance that helps them understand concepts deeply and practice effectively. This approach encourages lasting confidence and independence.
Outside teaching, I enjoy accompanying singers, exploring new repertoire, and studying piano education techniques. These interests help me bring fresh ideas into lessons and continue growing as an educator. Watching students achieve goals they once thought difficult is deeply rewarding. I strive to create a welcoming and motivating learning environment. My goal is to help every learner develop skills that will support a lifelong enjoyment of music.

My piano lessons focus on helping students develop strong musical foundations while enjoying the learning process. Learners work on finger strength, rhythm accuracy, note reading, coordination, scales, and expressive playing through structured activities and engaging repertoire. I believe music should be approachable and enjoyable, so lessons connect technical skills directly to practical musical applications. This helps students understand why each exercise matters and how it contributes to overall development. Every lesson encourages steady progress in a supportive environment.
Students receive personalized instruction based on their interests and goals. Some learners focus on contemporary songs and accompaniment skills, while others enjoy classical repertoire and performance preparation. Activities include sight reading, ear training, duet playing, rhythm exercises, and creative interpretation tasks. Clear explanations and practical practice strategies help students improve effectively. Regular encouragement keeps motivation high and supports long-term growth.
My goal is to help students become confident and independent musicians. As skills develop, learners gain greater comfort at the keyboard and stronger musical awareness. Lessons encourage creativity, discipline, and self-expression. Every achievement is celebrated as an important step forward. I want students to experience both the joy of music and the satisfaction of personal progress.
