About Ivy
I have 13 years of experience teaching piano and hold a PhD in Piano Education. Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked with students of various ages and experience levels, helping them develop strong technique, musical understanding, and performance confidence. Supporting learners as they grow musically remains one of the most fulfilling parts of my career.
My teaching approach combines structure, encouragement, and adaptability. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to individual goals and strengths. Creating a supportive environment helps learners stay motivated and achieve meaningful progress.
Outside teaching, I enjoy exploring piano literature, participating in musical collaborations, and studying innovative educational methods. These experiences enrich my lessons and keep my teaching fresh and engaging. I am passionate about helping students enjoy music while reaching their full potential as pianists.

My piano lessons focus on helping students become confident and independent musicians through practical and enjoyable learning experiences. We work on finger independence, note reading, rhythm development, hand coordination, chord recognition, sight-reading, and musical expression. Every lesson is designed to build strong foundations while encouraging creativity and personal growth.
Students participate in technical exercises, rhythm challenges, duet activities, repertoire study, and performance preparation. I adapt lessons to individual learning styles so each student can progress at a comfortable and effective pace. Clear explanations and structured practice help learners understand both the how and the why behind musical development.
I enjoy helping students discover greater confidence at the keyboard while developing lasting musical skills. Through patient support and consistent guidance, learners improve steadily and enjoy the process of making music. My goal is to create lessons that are inspiring, productive, and rewarding.
