About Richard
With a passion for music and teaching, I specialise in helping students of all ages master the piano. I hold Master’s degrees in Music, equipping me with strong knowledge in theory, technique, and performance. I have experience teaching beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced students preparing for exams or recitals. My lessons are student-centred and personalised, designed to balance structure with creativity. I use real-life examples and case studies to help students relate rhythm, melody, and harmony to practical situations.
Motivation is key, and I encourage students to set goals, track progress, and celebrate achievements. Problem-solving exercises are integrated to develop critical thinking and independent learning skills. I maintain integrity, creating a safe, honest, and supportive environment where students feel comfortable experimenting. I am flexible, adjusting lessons to each student’s pace, style, and objectives. Alongside piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and composition. I prepare students for exams, competitions, and performances while fostering creativity, confidence, and discipline. Lessons are offered online or in-person for all ages.
