About Daphne
I am a piano tutor with 8 years of experience, holding a B.Mus in Keyboard Performance and Ensemble Leadership. My passion for piano comes from its ability to bring people together through harmony, rhythm, and shared musical energy. Over the years, I have guided learners from first notes to confident performances, helping them grow both individually and collaboratively.
My teaching approach emphasizes musical connection, rhythmic groove, and expressive confidence. I help students develop strong reading skills, coordination, and performance comfort through patient guidance. Lessons are adapted to each learner’s pace, ensuring progress feels achievable and motivating. Mistakes are treated as part of learning, and every improvement is celebrated warmly.
Outside teaching, I stay connected to piano through ensemble work, repertoire exploration, and ongoing pedagogy development. Piano becomes most exciting when students feel musical fluency from the beginning, not just slow memorization of notes. In my lessons, I focus on helping learners build strong coordination, rhythm accuracy, and expressive confidence through engaging, interactive teaching. Students explore finger independence, reading fluency, chord progressions, real-time rhythm training, and duet playing so they develop natural musicianship. I create an encouraging environment where learners feel supported, motivated, and excited to make music.
Lessons are shaped around each student’s level. Beginners work on posture, basic note reading, simple melodies, and steady rhythm foundations. Intermediate learners strengthen chord fluency, pedal technique, musical phrasing, and ensemble awareness. Advanced students refine performance preparation, stylistic versatility, advanced harmony, and confident stage presence. I also guide learners in developing practice strategies that feel structured but enjoyable.
Piano lessons build more than technical skill. Students develop creativity, focus, emotional expression, and confidence through steady progress. My goal is to help learners feel empowered at the keyboard, whether playing solo or collaborating with others. Each lesson becomes a step toward lifelong musical joy and expressive freedom.
