About Iris
My passion for piano began with a fascination for harmony, structure, and emotional storytelling through sound. I completed a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and have 9 years of teaching experience working with students of different ages and levels. Over time, I have developed a structured yet flexible teaching approach that balances technical discipline with creative expression.
My teaching philosophy is centered on clarity, patience, and gradual development. I believe in building strong fundamentals first, then slowly introducing advanced concepts as students gain confidence. I focus on helping learners understand music deeply so they can interpret and express it naturally. This approach helps students become independent and confident musicians.
Outside teaching, I continue practicing piano repertoire, exploring compositions from different eras, and studying various musical styles. These experiences help me keep lessons fresh, engaging, and inspiring. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing students grow from beginners into confident performers who can express emotion, precision, and musical depth through their playing.

My piano lessons focus on developing strong technical ability while also encouraging musical expression and creativity. I teach finger independence, hand coordination, sight reading, rhythm accuracy, scales, chords, dynamics, articulation, pedaling technique, and expressive phrasing. Each concept is explained in a clear and structured way so students can understand and apply it effectively. The learning process is designed to support steady, confident progress.
Students are guided according to their level and goals. Beginners focus on note reading, hand position, simple rhythms, and basic melodies. Intermediate learners develop coordination, fluency, expressive playing, and stronger sight reading skills. Advanced students work on interpretation, performance preparation, technical refinement, and stylistic understanding. Students preparing for exams, concerts, or accompaniment receive structured practice plans. Continuous feedback ensures consistent improvement.
Learning piano should feel calm, enjoyable, and motivating. My lessons create a supportive environment where students can learn without pressure and grow at their own pace. Over time, learners gain confidence in reading music, playing with expression, and performing comfortably. My goal is to help students develop both strong technical skill and a deep emotional connection with music.
