Find out more about Pavithra

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

My main subject is Physics, a subject that I find fascinating because it helps us understand how the world around us works. From a young age, I was curious about everyday phenomena—why things move, how light behaves, how electricity works, and so on. That curiosity gradually developed into a deeper interest in Physics.
As I progressed through my studies, I also discovered that I enjoyed explaining concepts to others. Teaching gave me an opportunity to make difficult topics simple and interesting for students. That combination of learning, understanding and sharing knowledge is what made me passionate about teaching.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My biggest motivation is my students. I believe that a good teacher can make a significant difference in a student's confidence and attitude towards learning.
I especially enjoy helping students who initially feel that a subject is difficult. When they finally understand a concept and become confident enough to say, “Now I understand it!”, that moment is very meaningful to me.
My teachers have also inspired me. Their patience, encouragement and dedication showed me that teaching is not just about completing a syllabus—it is about guiding, motivating and building a student's confidence.
  • How does your work help society?

I believe education is one of the most meaningful ways to contribute to society. Through teaching, I can help students develop not only academic knowledge but also confidence, communication skills, curiosity and independent thinking.
My aim is to make quality learning more accessible and to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions without hesitation. If even one student becomes more confident, develops an interest in learning or achieves something they once thought was impossible, I feel that my work has made a positive difference.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My role model is Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. I admire him because he combined knowledge, humility and a strong passion for education.
What inspires me most is his connection with students and his belief that young people have the power to shape the future. His life reminds me that a teacher should not simply give information but should inspire students to dream, learn and believe in themselves.
I try to bring that attitude into my own teaching by encouraging my students to stay curious and never be afraid of learning something new.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside teaching, I enjoy reading, learning new things and creating educational content. I also like exploring new ideas and finding creative ways to explain concepts.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends as well. These activities help me relax and also give me fresh energy and ideas that I can bring back into my teaching.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One experience that I remember particularly well was working with a student who was initially very hesitant to answer questions. Even when the student knew the answer, they lacked the confidence to speak.
Instead of focusing only on getting the correct answer, I started encouraging the student to explain their thinking step by step. I made sure that mistakes were treated as a normal part of learning.
Over time, I noticed a change. The student started participating more actively and answering questions with much greater confidence. That experience reminded me that sometimes a student's biggest barrier is not a lack of ability, but a lack of confidence.
It reinforced my belief that a teacher's role is not just to teach a subject, but also to help students discover what they are capable of.
