About Matthew
Hello
My name is Matthew, I hold a Physics with Philosophy degree from the University of Sheffield.
I love the way that Maths and Physics give us the tools to make predictions about the future, as well as the ability to trust those predictions. There's no other feeling like when you realise a knotty real life question can be formalised and easily solved with an equation or technique.
Most importantly I really do believe that Maths, Science, Philosophy, English, and an understanding of Art are fundamental to living a happy, fulfilled life. While I can't help as much as I would like to be able to with many of these, I can certainly help to better your understanding of mathematical tools and scientific discoveries.

My lessons will focus on problem areas. My objective is to understand the gaps in a student's knowledge and try to find new ways of explaining abstracting the idea to make it easier to parse. I use examples, as well as working through problems together, followed by offering examples of why and how any ideas might be needed in the real world.
